Job Summary
The QC Microbiologist/Chemist will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of our skincare products. This position involves conducting microbiological and chemical analyses, developing and validating test methods, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in microbiology and chemistry, along with a passion for skincare and a keen eye for detail.
- Microbiological Testing: Perform routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Chemical Analysis: Conduct chemical analyses using various techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectroscopy) to verify the composition and stability of products.
- Method Development: Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for new and existing products.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all testing procedures comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., Drugs & Cosmetics Act & Rules, AYUSH requirements) and internal quality standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests, results, and procedures. Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Production, and Quality Assurance teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve any quality issues or deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
- Training: Train and mentor junior staff on laboratory techniques and quality control procedures.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a QC microbiologist/chemist role, preferably in the skincare or cosmetic industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in microbiological and chemical analysis techniques. Experience with HPLC, TLC, spectroscopy, and other analytical instruments.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory standards (e.g. Drugs and Cosmetics Act, BIS) and GMP practices.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording results.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare detailed reports and communicate findings effectively.
