Job Summary
The Production Chemist will be responsible for overseeing the production of skincare products, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with the manufacturing team to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain product consistency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and experience in a production environment, preferably within the skincare or cosmetics industry.
- Production Oversight: Monitor and control the production processes to ensure that products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards.
- Formulation Implementation: Translate product formulations from the R&D team into scalable manufacturing processes. Ensure accurate mixing, blending, and processing of raw materials.
- Quality Control: Perform routine quality control tests on in-process materials and finished products. Ensure that products meet specified criteria for quality, safety, and efficacy.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving production efficiency and product quality. Implement process improvements and validate their effectiveness.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve production issues, including equipment malfunctions, formulation inconsistencies, and quality deviations. Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of production batches, test results, and process changes. Ensure documentation complies with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Compliance: Ensure all production activities adhere to regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP) and company policies. Prepare necessary documentation for regulatory audits and inspections.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule regular upkeep and repairs.
- Training: Train and mentor production staff on proper procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years' of experience in a production or manufacturing role, preferably in the skincare or cosmetics industry. Freshers welcome.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of chemical processes, formulation techniques, and production equipment. Experience with quality control testing and process optimization.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for skincare manufacturing (e.g., FDA, GMP).
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in overseeing production processes and documenting results.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare detailed reports and communicate findings effectively.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
