Job Summary

The Formulation Chemist will be responsible for developing new skincare products and improving existing formulations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet quality, efficacy, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, experience in the skincare or cosmetics industry, and a passion for innovation.

- Product Development: Design and develop new skincare formulations, including creams, lotions, serums, cleansers, and other products, from concept to commercialization.

- Formulation: Conduct laboratory experiments to create and refine product formulations. Ensure formulations are stable, effective, and meet desired performance criteria.

- Testing & Evaluation: Perform stability testing, sensory evaluation, and efficacy testing on formulations. Analyze results and make necessary adjustments to optimize product performance.

- Ingredient Research: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, raw materials, and technologies. Evaluate new ingredients and incorporate them into formulations as appropriate.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., Drugs & Cosmetic Act & Rules). Prepare and maintain necessary documentation for regulatory submissions.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Production, to ensure successful product launches. Provide technical support and guidance as needed.

- Scale-Up & Manufacturing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to scale up formulations from the laboratory to full production. Address any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

- Innovation: Continuously seek opportunities for innovation in product formulations, processes, and technologies. Contribute to the development of the brand's product pipeline.

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, or a related field. D.Pharma/B.Pharma/M.Pharma (Ayurveda)

- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a formulation, R&D role, preferably in the skincare or cosmetic industry.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in formulation techniques and laboratory equipment. Strong understanding of skin biology and cosmetic ingredients.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for skincare products.

- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex formulation issues.

- Creativity & Innovation: Strong creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop unique and effective product formulations.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare detailed technical reports and present findings.

- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in conducting experiments and documenting results.
